Joan has been a nurse practitioner since 1992 working in family practice, internal medicine, and for the past 14 years, in the practice of allergy and asthma. Joan’s experience includes allergy skin testing, diagnosis of asthma, and the testing and management of food allergy, including oral food challenges. Additional experience includes penicillin testing and diagnosis and management of chronic urticaria. Joan believes it is essential to work in partnership with patients to develop individualized care plans to address their allergy and asthma concerns. She also works in collaboration with primary care providers/other specialists to coordinate the patient’s medical care. Joan is a certified asthma educator through the National Educator Certification Board (AE-C).
